Can it really be 2010?!?! I feel like yesterday it was just 1997!!! Wowza..where does the time go?
We had a very enjoyable twelve day break from school and the hussle and bussle of our daily lives. We were able to enjoy time with both of our families. We feel blessed to have such great families!!
Also, we were able to take a very quick trip to Pittsburgh, PA. Yes, you read that right..Pittsburgh, PA. About 3 months ago I was anticipating Christmas and Pete's 30th birthday. I thought long and hard as to what I would get him as a gift for either one of them. It has always been a "dream" of Pete's to go and see the Steelers play on their home field, Heinz Field. I thought there is no time like the present to just pick up and GO! I tried really hard to keep it a secret and pull off a surpise but I couldn't do it. I was very overwelmed by all the logistics of it all....and I spilled the beans! We planned it togehter and I wouldn't have had it any other way! We left on Saturday and returned home late Monday. It was a very quick trip, but we knew we had family still home and didn't want to ditch them for too long. We had such a great time!! Pete was like a little boy at Christmas!!
After the game, we were able to ride the trolly car up the Duquesne Incline. What a beautiful sight it was to see the city all lit up. It was also neat to see the "3 Rivers". We would have loved to have seen that from the bluff in the daylight but the night pics were pretty cool too.
The Christmas tree in the middle of the picture is the center of the "3 Rivers".
It was so refreshing to get away for a short while. Even though it was fast and furious; it was PERFECT!!
We are so excited to see what 2010 has in store for us!
Happy NEW year!!!!
