3 Weeks Old

It is hard to believe that Cael is already 3 weeks old. We are just amazed at how he has changed just in the last 20 days. He was actually not supposed to join us until last Saturday, which was my projected due date. I looked at him on Saturday and thought to myself...how would HE had fit in ME?! So I was very thankful on many levels that I was holding him in my arms that day! Here are some updated pictures of our little guy!! (*this is for your Grace* :)

We don't have very many pictures of him with his eyes open so I had to post this one.



We love his facial expressions when he gets to stretch out! He is such a wiggle worm and is constantly moving, even when he is sleeping. Which is exactly what he was like inside my womb!


If you know Pete at all, you know his love for the Pittsburg Steelers. This is the outfit that he found at the consignment store this summer. Daddy was so proud to find this outfit and said that no matter if Baby D was a boy or a girl..he/she WOULD wear this outfit!! :) The Steelers played this past Monday night so we had to dress Cael up for the game. The steelers won...barely, so that made daddy happy.

Mason and Mallory love baby Cael. Mallory is such a mother hen and wants to be with baby Cael as much as possible. It is going to be so fun to see these three grow up together. Now my mom pointed out the other day that Mason, Mallory and Cael are the same age range as my sisters and me. So this picture could actually be my older sister Lisa, as Mason; Me as Mallory; and Cael as Kristin. :) Im sure we have a picture of that somewhere!


This is a nightly occurance in our house. Cael LOVES to be held and sleeps very sound this way each night. And its nice for mama too because I can get some things done when daddy comes home.

Overall Cael is doing well. We are slowing getting the nights figured out and he has done a pretty good job of sleeping for us during the night. Of course we have had some rocky nights, but who doesn't. We remind ourselves often that his little brain is growing so much and he is learning too. He is eating about 4oz every 3-4 hours and is growing like crazy. At his 2 week appointment he was back up to his birth weight, so the doctor was happy to see that he was gaining weight. Cael's breathing rates have been consistently in the 60's and below which is a sign that his lungs are developing properly.

We love our little peanut so much and look at him in AWE of what God has done. Simply amazing.
