At the beginning of this month, a special someone celebrated a birthday!
DADDY!!!!
As we back up to his actually birthday, it was a bit of a CRAZY day!! I had planned to make his requested supper and his requested cheesecake...and I had in mind that we were going to make daddy's day special! Often times, having his birthday so close to Christmas, it gets overlooked. I try each year to make it a point to make his day as special as he is to us!
Unfortunately, his birthday was the day that my dad was transported to Des Moines ICU. And all of those birthday plans were kabosh'd! I remember remaining very strong throughout the whole process of my dad and his sickness. However when I had to call Pete and tell him that I wasn't going be home for his birthday, I bawled! I know it was the emotions of everything that was going on with my dad AND the fact that once again his birthday was getting put on the back burner. It just made me so sad because of several different reasons.
Pete is an amazing man.
He is THOUGHTFUL & KIND to not only me and Cael but to everyone he meets.
He is GENTLE and LOVING all the time.
He is HELPFUL and WILLING whenever I or anyone else needs something.
He is DEPENDABLE in all circumstances.
He is my ROCK here on earth.
I have been blessed beyond measure to call this man MY HUSBAND! God has done a great work in this man's life. I have always said that God knew that I needed a man like this to live this life with! Through the ups and down, valleys and victories this man has been there. He has been there cheering me on, encouraging me, loving me, holding me and lifting me up.
As I think of Cael growing up to be a young man of God someday, I hope and pray that he turns out to be just like his
DADDY!
Cael LOVES being with his daddy! If daddy is around or going somewhere he wants to be with him!
"Where daddy go?......I go see him".
(this is a phrase I hear about 10x a day)
