I want to react and say "oh we have been so busy"...but I will refrain...because aren't we all busy?! I think we are as busy as we want to be so I don't want to use busyness as an excuse. So here is just a little glimpse of what we have been up to...
Detasseling season is finally over. We haven't recieved the final pay out..so the jury is still out on whether this will be an annual event for the Drury's.:)
We also started buying baby furniture and getting that situated in the baby's room. The dressers came already in tact but the crib and glider were a different story. Pete enjoyed himself though, I think.
After we brought the furniture home and started setting it up, we needed to decide on a color theme. There has been a nursery theme that I have had my eye on for a while so I kind of had an idea of what colors were in the pattern. However, I had to wait to see it in person before I could decide on the exact wall color. I began searching online for this Alphabet Soup theme that I really adored and priced things out. My sister asked me if I had ever looked on ebay. Now I am a novice when it comes to ebay so that was very overwhelming to me. My sister and I found a couple that we kept our eyes on and watched them price out. Then finally after about 4+ weeks of surfing around on ebay I found an "18 piece nursery set with FREE SHIPPING". I thought, wow that would be nice..free shipping and there are so many pieces! So to make a long story short...I WON IT!! I paid about 1/4 of the price I would have paid. The box was delivered weighing 18pounds (did I mention FREE SHIPPING)and full of delight! In the box came a quilt, bumper pad, crib sheet, hamper, wall hangings, lamp shade, mobile, and valances. You can see in the pictures that we don't have all the items arranged in the room yet, but the painting is complete and furniture is back in place!
Week 27
We went to the Indianola Balloon Fest with some friends. We had such a great time and loved seeing all of the hot air balloons. It was a pretty amazing sight!
Then to round off our weeks, Pete volunteered to fill the pulpit at our chruch last sunday. Our church is in a transition period of trying to find a new pastor and our interim pastor needed to be away this past weekend. So being the bold man that he is..He stepped up to the plate! Pete did such a great job sharing his heart. He spoke on Daniel and how he was a man of persistent faith. We were challenged to live a life like Daniel and no matter what life throws our way we should praise God and exalt His name!
Maybe I will have him write a post with some highlights because he did so well! ;) Im a proud wife!
