Happy Birthday to Pete!!

As I type this...Pete's birthday will be tomorrow January 3rd. So I thought I would type up a post just for him!!

Pete has the blessed birthday that surrounds the Christmas holiday. I know that most years his birthday sneaks up on me and sometimes just simply gets overlooked because of the hustle and bustle of everything else going on this time of year. So as he was out ice fishing today, I was reflecting on just how special Pete is to me. I asked myself, how often do I show him how much he means to me. So I decided to make him a pan of pumpkin bars and Cael and I sang happy birthday to him. We made the night special just for daddy. :)

Again, I can not say enough about how blessed I am to have such a loving husband in Pete. Pete actually means "a rock". This is such a great description of what this man has been to me. He has been at times unmoveable when I have needed stability. He has brought a sense of calmness to me when I have felt all out of control. Sometimes it is just his presence that will put me at ease with things. For those that know him know that he is a very genuine person. There are many things to love about him, so here a few that really stick out to me..

I LOVE HIM FOR....
~being sensitive and caring.
~being so thoughtful, all the time.
His first words each evening are "How was your day?" or "How are you doing?"
~not being afraid to show emotions.
He shed many tears at the birth of Cael and never felt guilty about a single one of them.
~always helping with everything (housework, dishes, laundry etc)
~making me laugh at stupid silly things
~having such a positive outlook on things
~being so collected and calm about nearly everything
~being concerned about my well being.
It is not uncommon to hear him ask me "do you need anything?" or "you doing ok".

I could not have married a better man. As we were considering names for Cael, we both wanted to pick a name that had great meaning. I often speak of how Pete is my ROCK and I wanted our son to have a name very similar.
Cael actually means "one who is Manly and Strong".

Cael has such a great role model in his daddy to make HIS name hold true to his personality some day. I hope!

Ok, I am done bragging. Can you tell I have married a pretty great guy!?! ;)
