Things That Fly

Our son loves anything that has a motor, anything that has wheels, anything you can ride and anything that can FLY!

It is that time of year where crop duster are in full force! We have watched probably close to 3 different planes spray fields around us. This was one of the days we were headed to VBS but not before we watched the crop duster across the road spray the corn! He was shouting at it and making all kinds of motor noises, also!

Balloons!
This is the 3rd year in a row that we have made a trip to Indianola for their National Balloon Festival. Once again, we were NOT disappointed! This year we took some friends of ours and their daughter, Payton. They had never been to see the Night Glow, so we invited them to ride along. They were impressed as well!!

As we walked into the field where you can watch them land and also inflate, there was THIS balloon that flew right over our heads! So cool!!

As it got a little darker, more balloons began to inflate. This didn't really keep the little ones attention all that much but the adults were mesmerized! We tried to get the kids to sit still for 1 picture and you can see that was next to impossible, but I was able to capture these two photos! Cael is saying "Cheeeeeeessse"

The sun is setting. Dusk is approaching. The beauty in a sunset is sometimes breath taking.

It is getting a bit darker...

1..........2..........3..........GGGGGlllllllllooooooooooww!

All at once the balloons light up their fires and illuminate the sky! So neat! If you have young kids and live near Des Moines, you have to put this on your "Things to do this summer" for next year! It is such a great time!

Family Picture!
Here is us last year....

This is our family this year! Our little boy has grown and changed so much in the last year.
