I love this age! I have always said that I love 9 months to 3 years! Now don't get me wrong, I will love all of the ages and stages that are ahead but these are some of my favorites.
STANDING! He is not pulling himself up just yet, but when placed in a standing position he does really well! I have always known that those strong little legs would be put to good use at an early age!
ACTIVE & MOBILE!
Cael has become my new "swifer" mop. I had no idea that my floor could be so dirty. He has not yet figured out how to use all four legs to crawl so army crawling is still in full effect and he is FAST! Try as I might to keep him in a confined area and his "mopping" at a minimum, I fail. He has developed his 2ND sore on his left foot because of the friction that occurs when he crawls. :) I have tried to keep shoes on him but he kicks them or pulls them off. So I guess bare feet it is! Nothing slows this little guy down. It is breaking me in for what is to come when those little legs figure out how to walk! Oh Dear Lord..give me patience now! :)
Right now we are watching Cael grow in his independence. He is very much a determined little guy. When he sees something that he wants he is bound and determined to go after it no matter what it takes. This has been a bit nerve wracking at times, but this is definitely a personality trait that will benefit him in the life to come! We hope and pray that this strong will and focus will be used to bring honor to his creator!
WHAT DO YOU SEE?!?!?
BIRDS!
We had a nest of barn swallows on our porch. We watched them build their nest, we watch the mother sitting on her eggs, we saw the babies when they were fresh, as they grew and then watched them fly away! We called our barn swallow friends "Bob and Betty". Cael LOVED watching the bird swoop and chirp in and around the nest. It was part of our daily routine to go and check on Bob and Betty! Sad to see them go but fun to watch while it lasted!
BABY!
Granny is showing Cael his new 2 week old cousin Madden! We are so excited to have welcome Madden Aaron into our family 2 weeks ago. He came 18 days early and is doing great!! He is about 2lbs lighter and 2inches short than Cael was at that age, so it is strange to look at and hold such a little peanut! Oh the things that these boys will get into on the farm as they grow up together!!
GUITAR & MUSIC
This picture was taken after our Vacation Bible School program when one of the helpers grabbed his guitar and just started playing a song. Cael couldn't take his eyes off of the guitar.
LOVE!
I had to post this picture of my niece, Mallory (3) and Cael. Mallory is always asking "Can I hold him, DD?". I try to explain to her that he doesn't really like to be "held" so much any more because he is getting bigger. She said "That's OK, I will hold his hand". :)
