How Does He Learn These Things?

One afternoon last week, we went upstairs for Cael's afternoon nap. Naps are never a problem for him. We have our little routine, he falls asleep, I lay him in his bed, I walk out of the room and he wakes up about an 1 1/2-2 hours later. Not on this day! I would get him to an asleep state, so I thought, lay him in his crib...and he would roll over quick and start to cry. So I would pick him up and rock him again, lay him down and he would roll over and start crying. After about 3 different times of doing this, I just decided to walk out of the room, because I knew he was tired. I thought that he would just close his eyes and be OUT. Um...nope. He proceeded to scream and cry. Again, which is so unusual. I was a little concerned but I didn't know what else to do other than to just let him cry. I listened to him cry and scream for about 5 minutes or so and then his cry started to sound different. It sounded, um..not so urgent. So I came downstairs, click on our video monitor and saw him doing this.........

REEEEEALLLLYY!??!?! HOW IN THE WORLD DID HE DO THIS?!!!!
He was pretty proud of himself, I believe his grin says it all!

I am still wondering how he figured this out. He has never really tried to pull himself up on the furniture so this was a shock to me that he would try AND accomplish this in his crib.
Of course I kind of freaked out and went up and quickly put the mattress down one more notch. We have already had a "mishap" with falling out of things and I did not want that to happen again!! :)
