Adventures

IOWA STATE FAIR

The state fair is something that my family LOVES! Growing up, we would attend the state fair every year. Now, into my adulthood, that tradition still stands!! It was so fun taking Cael along and showing him all of the sights of the fair. There are so many educational experiences that we can't wait for Cael to do each year as he grows up!! This year, we went through all of the animal barns so that he could see, hear and touch most of the animals. He LOVED it! His little "head on a swivel" was in full effect. Next year, we will attempt to do the Little Hands on the farm! He will be able to walk through it all and experience how farming is important to all of us! We had such a great time that we decided to take him back for a second day. He was such a trooper and did fantastic despite spending half the day in his stroller and a shortened nap. A great time had by ALL!!

Waterpark
We packed up for another adventure this month. My neice, nephew, brother in law, sisters and the three of us headed to Adventureland. This is an amusement park that we would frequent as kids. We jumped on the oppurtunity to go along with my sister's family. Cael is too little for any of the rides but they have a waterpark that is now attached to the park and he really enjoyed the water!! These pictures are all that I had of him playing in the water, I wish I could have captured more. It was a full time job trying to attend to him in the kiddy pool! He absolutely loves water and he has NO fear! As you can see in the pictures, he was army crawling through the water!

10 Months Old!!

ENJOYING THE OUTDOORS!
We love to be outside when the weather is pleasant. Pete and I love to take walks. We loaded up after church on Sunday and decided to go to a local trail near us. This area has a beautiful bike path and some "off road" areas too. We decided to make the trek up to the lookout tower with Cael in the backpack. Cael loved the new vantage point. He was quiet the whole way and just took in everything. Of course, daddy had to stop along the way and teach him about the Colorado Blue Spruce and the White Pine trees. These are the trees that he planted in our backyard a few years ago so he is a little "passionate" about trees. ;)

Life is so different these days...and we love it!!!

Now that fall is around the corner, we are anticipating apple orchards, pumpkin patches, falling golden leaves, cooler temperatures, hot chocolate, sweatshirts, football games and our list goes on and on. Autumn is my favorite time of year. I enjoy everything that this season brings. I can't wait to share it with Cael.
