Making a List and Checking it Twice

I thought I'd show a picture of all the medicine and patches I spoke of in the last post. This is the bag of goodies I received as I visited a  pharmacy near our clinic. The pharmacist was amazingly helpful in explaining all of this to me and even wrote notes RIGHT ON THE BOTTLES for me!! I told the pharmacist that this was the 4th time we've seen a lot of this medicine so most of it looked familiar. However, I showered her with praise as she wrote many notes for me! This entire process is a bit overwhelming to say the least so any way the nursing staff or the pharmacists can help to make it "easier"...KUDOS to them!!

Last Tuesday, I had to go have a TSH blood draw done to test the levels of my thyroid. This is a test to make sure that it is functioning within "normal" range. Our doctor told us that the thyroid function helps a women to get and STAY pregnant. I thought "No problem..what's another blood draw?! I'm getting good at this." That all went well. Then the doctor called me last Friday and said that my thyroid is functioning a little bit lower then he likes so I have to start a small dosage of some medicine to get that back within normal range. He shared that if we weren't trying to get & STAY pregnant it wouldn't be an issue. My numbers were .02 of a point out of the "normal range". So add another pill to the mix! What's another pill at this point, right?! I am just thankful it is an "easy fix".
Also at this appointment I had a sonohystorgram done by the doctor. The doctor seemed very please with how everything seemed clear and ready. *SIGH*

Every step along the way of this journey, we seem to be on pins and needles. Trying to keep a level head in a nerve wracking experience is quite difficult.  So when a doctor says "All looks good and clear".... WE (I) let out a humongous SIGH! Thank you Jesus!

I am able to cross one thing off of my list already and that is the antibiotic!  Yay, Yay Yay! I love to cross things off my lists! As I proclaimed to my husband...
 "One step closer".

Thank you so much for all of you that are praying for us. I was telling my husband the other day that I can tell people are praying because our thoughts are very similar. We both agree that what is ahead is kind of scary, to put it bluntly but we have such a peace about it ALL! When I think about the big picture, I freak out, but then I remember to try and take it one day at a time. I focus on what I need to do today and let God have the rest.
We've also felt the spirit leading us to be open about what happens. Which is exactly what I asked for many of you to pray about....you have...and we ARE open to anything and all that is to happen in the weeks ahead.
Our hearts are at a different place this time.
We have our beautiful son. He is healthy, he is smart, he is growing and he's ours.
Our heart's desire is that we want him to have a brother or a sister to share this life with. So whether that sibling comes from my womb or another woman's, we wont stop until that piece of our heart is fulfilled.

Please continue to pray for our minds, bodies and spirits as we continue on down this road.

  1. Oh man... all so familiar! I'm so glad that you're feeling so peaceful about the whole thing. You're such a strong woman!

About the thyroid thing... I have that too, and take a pill for it everyday for the rest of my life. You might actually find that you start feeling a LOT better (not that you don't feel good) once your thyroid is in check, because your thyroid affects SO MANY PARTS of your body!!

    Keep me up to date!
