The first photo here is the picture that we recieved the day of transfer. If you look closely, you will see 2 white + signs. Those are the 2 embryos. They are so small that you can barely see them. This was taken on Feb. 18th.
One month later, March 17th, this is the baby growing! Now it takes a lot to look closely and see our little "poppyseed". You will see //. In between those lines is the baby's heart!! It was just pulsating on the screen when we saw it! If you look down at the bottom of the picture, you will see the heart beating. It's little heart was beating 122bpm! This is a 6 week ultrasound.
Now this was taken on April 1st, just 2 weeks later. This is 8 1/2 week ultrasound. It is unreal what happens in just 2 short weeks. You can make out the baby's head, little limbs, umbilical cord and we also got to hear the heart beat again. The heart beat this time was 158bpm. Our little poppyseed grew into the size of a strawberry in a matter of days!
A friend of mine gave me this very visual book and each week/month it shows a comparable object to the size of the fetus! We have found that to be quite comical, but very helpful in understanding how things are progressing; hence the term 'poppseed' and 'strawberry'! :)
We ask that you just keep praying!! We know that this is a very fragile time and trust God with every day. With each passing ultrasound, we have found that our guard can be let down a bit. We are still trusting and praying for things to progress and that God would continue to knit this little one together within me!
There is not a day that goes by that I am not praying, excited, praising the Lord for your miracle! I can not wait to continue to watch the progression of your "strawberry"...yes...aren't the food comparisons lovely? ;o)
ReplyDeleteAMAZING! Will continue to pray!
