Lil Boy's Actual Birthday

Since Cael's birthday was on a Wednesday we decided to have a low key celebration with just the three of us. It has been a family tradition to have an angel food cake for our birthday. This is something that I have very vivid memories of as a kid; blowing out my candles on a pink glazed angel food cake. Cael could have cared less about the cake. He just wanted the "haaa" (hot) candle!






So after Cael woke up from his nap that day, I had pieces of his gift laid out on the floor. He instantly wanted me to put him down on the floor so he could explore what these new "toys" were in the living room. One of the first things he did was make the motor noise while he rolled the wheels back and forth. He defintely has an understanding of what wheels are and what they do! I LOVE it!








Cael LOVES anything with a motor or WHEELS! So as we talked about what to get him for his first birthday, we wanted it to be something with either a motor or wheels. I found this tricycle at Sam's Club at a great price and I just couldn't pass it up! Even though he looks so little now when he rides it, we know that he will grow in to it in the months to come. There are a few features of this trike that will help him grow into it. My heart just melted when I saw his face light up when I put him on his trike for the first time. He is still pretty cautious when he rides it so we haven't had to fear him getting too wild. However I can't help but have visions of this little boy ramming this three wheeled vehicle all over the place...because that's what boys do..right! Oh the JOYS of BOYhood..LOVE it!
