Our little 1 year old is a busy little guy. Some of the things he is doing these days include the following...
~ARMY CRAWLING--He still has a mighty mean army crawl and prefers that above walking. He received some toys for his birthday that he can walk behind and he is starting to use them appropriately.
(ALMOST) WALKING He is beginning to let go and take a few steps to us. This has been so exciting to watch and experience. We are just fascinated that these things literally develop over night!
~TALKING-- At his 1 year check up our Pediatrician made the comment that he was a good talker. She heard him say a few more words and then proceeded to tell us that he speaks very clear for a 1 year old!! Here are a few of the words he has in his bag of tricks!
Hi He loves to tell everybody Hi! When we are at the store he will say Hi to nearly everyone we pass by.
Bye Bye He loves to say ByeBye even when it isn't necessary. He sometimes says it and looks at me like he wants me to take him somewhere. :)
Doh (GO) This is one of his favorite words. He loves to finish the prompt READY SET...."DOH". Now he is getting so that whenever he sees Granny Annie that he says "DOH".. She is the grandma that will give him rides on a four wheeler. So for now GRANNY is "DOH" :)

TeeKah There is a PBS channel that I have on from time to time that has a little squeaky bird on in named CHICA. He LOVES that bird. Whenever that bird comes on the screen he stops what he is doing and watches her. He has started to say her name now. :)
**just for the record, we do lots of other things besides watch TV.:)** Waaawahwahh(wash wash) When he is all done eating we usually say Wash..and he says sounds like WASH WASH. Usually when he is done he starts to throw his food off of his tray. When we try to attempt to teach him "All Done" he will say "Waawahwahh" and look for his washcloth.

MONKEY say--he says "EEEE"
I think we have a chatterbox on our hands....and I LOVE it!!!
THROWING THINGS I know that this is a very common "activity" for a 12 Month Old, however I believe Cael is working on MASTERING it! No matter what it is...he will chuck it after a few seconds of holding it. We have been working really hard for the last month for him to start drinking primarily out of a sippy cup. At first he didn't want anything to do with it. He would look at it and bat it out of my hands. He then warmed up to holding the cup. He will hold the BUP and drink a few sips and then he drops it on his tray. If I am not near him to grab it first, it will be THROWN on the floor. So after he takes a few sips I need to be close enough to grab it before to place it on the counter while he eats some more. He will then shout BUP BUP when he wants a drink. He refuses to have the cup sitting on his tray. If the cup is anywhere near his reach he will push it off onto the floor. This kid knows what he wants and what he doesn't want..that is for sure!!
LOVES TO SLEEP
Cael loves his bed and does so well when it comes to sleeping at night. He is in bed and asleep most nights by 7-7:30 (if not before) and will sleep until nearly 6-7am the next morning. When he wakes up in the morning, he usually lays up in his bed for 30-45 minutes before he wants to "get up". He lays and plays with his rag and sucks on his binky. Then he will stand up and begin to play with a picture mobile. When he is ready to get out of his bed he will THROW(imagine that) his binky. This is usually our signal to go and get him out of his bed for the day. We comment all the time that we are just so thankful that he sleep so well at night. This is something that we soak up nearly every night!
Oh my heart just literally turns to mush when I see this precious little boy. I am so blessed to call him my son.
