Where have I been?

Oh my goodness, I have neglected our blog badly. I clicked on it to view some of the blogs I follow and saw that it had been August 29th since the last time I updated things. I will choose to not use the excuse "we have been sooo busy" because I believe that is extremely overused these days. So I will just be honest and say that I just haven't taken the time to update. :)

Now what have we been up to these days?

FIRST HAIRCUT!!!
Our neighbor (my 2nd mom, the mother of my BFF, Jill ;) was the brave soul to be the first one to cut little boy's hair. Cael's hair was just starting to grow to a length of unruliness and we felt it was time to tame things up a bit. As we watched her cut, I just kept thinking to myself "wow, that is a lot of hair". However when we went to pick up a clump for his baby book, we were unable to find a clump of hair because it was so baby fine. We found some and were able to take a little bit for a keepsake. Pete and I just kept saying that his new haircut made him look like a little boy not a baby anymore.




My 1st MOM BIRTHDAY
Pete kept referring to my birthday as being a special day because it was my first MOM birthday. As I spent that day reflecting, I couldn't help but Praise GOD for all that he had given me in the past year. This is a role that I have longed for and I was so happy to share my first MOM birthday with my little family!! We celebrated by going to dinner and enjoying a sundae! I must say that this was the best birthday ever!


COUSIN FUN!

OUTDOORS
We love to be outdoors and so does little boy! This is MaaMa (my mom) on her 4 wheeler. Since we live on a farm this is used frequently. There is not a time that this 4 wheeler goes by without Cael pausing and listening very intently as it drives by. Every once in a while MaaMa will give him a ride and he has a BLAST!! He makes a motor sound and also responds to the prompt of "Ready...Set...."! His response is "Dooo".


Cael's (Great) AUNT MARY from South Carolina, came to visit for a whole week. This was the first time that she actually met Cael. We had a lot of fun together while she was here.


APPLE ORCHARD
We decided to take a trip to the apple orchard while my aunt was visiting. The weather was gorgeous and perfect for picking apples!! We loaded up and went on an apple adventure!! I love fall!!




PUMPKINS
While at the orchard we saw lots of pumpkins, as well.


FAMILY DINNER TOGETHER
This was the best picture I took that night. As I was trying to tend to a very hungry little boy and trying to get everyone to look at the camera...this was the best I could do. :) While my aunt was visiting we decided to celebrate all 4 of the October birthdays that are in my family. My aunt and uncle are twins and it is a rare occasion for them to spend their birthday together so this was a special event.


MaaMa's Birthday!
My mom is very special to us. We love her beyond words. She is always there for us at any given moment with willingness to do whatever it takes. I love my mom dearly however this is something we don't tell her enough! I'm blessed to have YOU has a mother, MOM!! Cael is BLESSED to have a Grandma like you!!!!
